Aqara presents new gateway and new devices

Aqara has recently launched the new gateway and smart home devices. And the homekit update and zigbee 3.0 update are the most impressive part. Zoom!

More powerful Aqara M2 Hub

The new HomeKit Hub is equipped with Zigbee 3.0 and for the first time supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi. The new Aqara M2 supports Zigbee, WiFi and Bluetooth. The device limit has been increased from a maximum of 30 to up to 100 devices.

Aqara HomeKit Door Lock and Camera

The new Aqara S2 Pro Door Lock will get a HomeKit update. If you use the previous Aqara S2 Door Lock, you will have to do without the HomeKit support in the future.

Aqara also presented a new camera at the event. Thus it is now certain that the previous Aqara G2 will also not receive HomeKit integration. Instead, customers will have to buy the new Aqara G2H.

Aqara sensors, adapter plugs and light switches

In addition to a new hub, a new door lock and a new camera, the manufacturer has also officially introduced the new T1 switches, sensors and adapter plugs.

There will also be new light switches. The special feature is the new Zigbee 3.0 standard and a new triple switch. This complements the previous single and double switch.

In contrast to the previous switches, the new version will only be available as a wired version. However, there should be a version with and a version without neutral conductor. But also wireless switches will be available as new models with Zigbee 3.0.

With the new light sensor one will be able to adjust the distance of the measurement. If you only want to use the area directly in front of the sensor, this is no problem. In addition, not only the actual, but also the perceived lighting conditions should be displayed.

New ceiling lamps and switches from Opple

The newly introduced ceiling lamps and switches from Opple will also support the Aqara Hub. Thus, the devices can also be integrated into HomeKit.

Availability and prices

The extent to which the new Aqara Hub EU version can be previewed. Also the prices are unknown so far. It is certain, however, that the previous hub will not support the new Zigbee 3.0 devices.
